Love that Ninjatune is still killing it this many years later. This track is like hot syrup, and the video is tremendous.

Guess Who’s Back?

Jamiroquai, and I still love me some funk from Mr. Jay.

The sample at the beginning of this track made me think it was going to be a commercial house track… definitely not the case. Fun storyline and just a killer track.

I’m certainly not the first to rave about this track or video, but I’m certain I won’t be the last either. Showing that they’ve got more tricks up their sleeve than just the boom bap of Major Lazer, this is a stunning surf guitar riff over some tight drumming with a definite Jamaican flair to it. Can’t wait for this full length record!

I know Seth best for his amazing photo work, but this video he directed is off the hook. Nothing like singing puppets. Directed by Seth Kushner and Carlos Molina

One of my favorite producers right now, Eskmo delivers the goods on this tune that sounds like it’s covered in syrup. Vocals by Swan are delightful as well. Tune came out on Warp Records back in February, but the video just got finished.

What an amazingly fun and uplifting song. The video starts off a bit like, okay, another guy with something on his head getting followed around by the camera, but winds up being quite the celebration.

Cool use of backwards video editing for some of the effects. And the bit with Ryan taking off his glasses four times in a row is awesome. The song has a nice dancefloor punch to it (naturally Kaskade knows how to work the floor) and the synth stabs are effective and fun. Good stuff all around.
